International Student Orientation
IU South Bend will no longer offer an on-campus orientation. However, you should still plan to arrive from abroad by the start of classes on January 19, 2021 and allow for a two-week period of quarantine. As a reminder, classes will begin online and switch to in person on February 8. For additional arrival guidelines, please see our First Steps page.

Online International Student Orientation Modules
The Office of International Student Services will send a link to our orientation modules which you will have the option of completing before arrival to campus or within a week of the start of classes. Please watch your email accounts closely for updates and guidance on how to register for fall coursework.
Set up your One.IU Account
Please use your 10 digit ID, provided with your admissions materials, to create your One.IU computing account. Go to One.IU.edu and search for Create My First IU Account.
Take your Math and English Placements Exams, if Required; Submit Official College Transcripts and Exam Results
All undergraduates must sit for placement exams if you do not anticipate transfer credit from earlier college coursework or exam results. Once you set up your One. IU account, you will be able to take the ALEKS placement exam.
We will send a separate invitation for the special English as a Second Language exam to those (undergraduate and graduate level) required to take it.
Creating your Spring 2021 Class Schedule
A staff member of the Office of International Student Services office will work with you to connect to an academic advisor and create your class schedule once you have completed your placement exams.
