Admissions Counselor/Diversity Coordinator
Admissions Counselor/Diversity Coordinator
Hola! Bonjour! Oi!
I am the newest addition to the admissions family here at IU South Bend. As a first-year admissions counselor and diversity coordinator, I am thrilled to provide our community with a different perspective of college and the necessary resources for a smooth transition to new opportunities. Originally from Mexico, where I lived for 13 years, I know first-hand the many struggles and sacrifices many students face on their day-to-day basis. That's why I am a strong advocate for first generation college graduates, underrepresented and international students, and all seeking an education. Being in those shoes myself, I know the college process can seem overwhelming. But if I did it, so can you! I love to travel, experience new cultures, and meet new people wherever destiny takes me. I've had the privilege to explore about 13 countries, but my lifelong ambition is to visit as many as possible during my journey here on Earth.
Here in the States, I graduated from St. Mary's College with a Bachelor's in Economics and Global Studies with a concentration in Intercultural Studies and minored in French and Portuguese. I know it's a mouthful, but as you can see, I have a passion for languages, and I strive to learn as many as my memory allows me to.
