Keeley

KEELEY HIGLEY

I'm Keeley, from LaPorte, Indiana. I started my college journey at a different university on a much larger campus, but I transferred to IUSB to be closer to home and save money - and I've never been happier! I'm a junior studying Health Science with a concentration in Health Promotion. In my free time, I like to read, practice yoga, research sustainability, and hang out with my friends (and their pets)! Some fun facts about me: I love 80s rock music, I'm the queen of a small town in southern Idaho, and I have had type 1 diabetes for nine years.

You can reach out to me about campus life, living on campus, and how our campus compares to other schools by emailing kehigley@iu.edu .

Celynn

Celynn Chan

Hi there! I’m Celynn, but you can call me Lynn. I’m an international student from Malaysia who’s currently a sophomore Biology Major. I came to the States to begin my studies in Spring 2019. After graduation, I hope to get into dental school and to start my own practice in the future. I’m a huge K-pop enthusiast, especially for BTS (yay~!) and I usually spend my time drawing, listening to music, and contemplating about life. Some fun facts about me are that I can speak five languages, I have been playing table tennis since I was 5 years old, and I dislike eating honeydews and cucumbers, but I don’t mind them as flavours in foodstuff.

We all know college is a new phase in life, and there might be some fears and expectations surrounding this new beginning. Don’t be shy -we’re here to share and help you based on our own experiences! If you want to know more about life at IUSB, not only as a regular student but also from an international student’s point of view (best of both worlds!), feel free to reach me at celchan@iu.edu. Also, if you share the same interests as me (K-pop & table tennis), I would be glad to discuss with you about them :)

Ashley

Ashley Ojo

I'm Ashley Ojo, and I am from Merrillville, Indiana by way of Dallas, Texas. I am currently a senior studying Rehabilitation Science with a concentration in physical therapy, and I played volleyball here for two years. In my free time, I love working out and meditating to relieve some stress. I also really enjoy a little retail therapy and love binge watching Criminal Minds or Grey's Anatomy. Some fun facts about me are that I'm classically trained in the clarinet and bassoon and I really enjoy cooking in my spare time! You can reach out to me for any questions about campus or campus life by emailing asojo@iu.edu.

Karley

Karley WajdaMy name is Karley Wajda, I am a freshman here at IUSB, from Laporte, IN. I am studying Communications with a concentration in Public Relations and a minor in German. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with friends and family. One fun fact about me is I own over 50 scrunchies, and love adding to my collection! Feel free to reach out to me - my IU email is kwajda@iu.edu.

Chrissy

Chrissy brooksMy name is Christine (everyone calls me Chrissy) and I am a senior at Indiana University South Bend! I am majoring in Communication Studies with a concentration in Public Relations, and minoring in Media Culture & Society. I chose this degree path because I enjoy studying human behavior while using micro and mass media communication channels. In other words, I like to find unique ways to communicate specific messages to either small or large groups. My favorite perk about being an IUSB student is having the best professors who have the background and true experiences to provide examples to the classroom in journalism, PR, research, mass media, and other specialized fields.
